Raven Renoux
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/511630958.jpg?349)
Age: 24
Kin: Feng (twin), Edemund and Lief (brothers)
Looks: Though she is the oldest of her siblings Raven stands the shortest. She’s an average height for a woman, but that still puts her half a head shorter than her twin and even a smidgen shorter than little Lief. Raven shares the same pointed Renoux features and high cheekbones as the rest of her family but is most similar in appearance to Feng. On her the features look more refined and elegant, feminine. Her eyes are a darker blue than her siblings. They are more intense but the dark color hides details and expression. Her hair is dark as well, falling to mid-back in an inky curtain, shorter bangs framing her face. Her skin is the same golden tanned as Fengs, but more often than not covered in scratches and bruises from her practices fighting. She will never measure up to Edmund or many other trained fighters but she’s got fast reflexes and a good head. She has the theories down. She's on the skinny side and finds it harder to build muscle than her brother do, but she's worked at it enough to be fairly strong.
Personality: To the public Raven is nice, but distant. She cares for people, as a woman she knows what it’s like to be disrespected and she doesn’t want others to suffer that. In private, she’s not such a graceful figure. Raven is kind, she's "nice", but not especially gentle, and she can be temperamental. Raven is quick to anger, and holds a grudge. (Mostly against the patriarchal society that permeates everything about her life. One can see how that would get on a person’s nerves and rub her raw) She’s also very impulsive, which can lead her to be quite scathing and rude, because she doesn’t think through her words sometimes. But Raven is never impatient. She is, to put it bluntly, pig-headedly stubborn. She’s incredibly ambitious and if she wants something, she will work and work, and wait and watch, until she sees the moment to take what she wants. It may take a while, but she’s always moving towards her goal. And what she wants, put simply, is the throne. She thinks she deserves it. As much as she loves Feng, she’s never given up the dream she had as a child; to rule in his place. Both Feng and Edmund were trained as heirs and it wasn’t hard for Raven to learn what they did. It tortured her to always be a step behind, but what she couldn't learn using her flair, she bullied out of them.
Ravens will power and impulsiveness do not mix well in her, or they mix too well. She’s not well suited for the proper role of a princess. She’s an expert at plots, but not silver tongued and subtle in person. In that aspect, she is more suited to be a military general than a political diplomat. Nevertheless, as the princess, it is expected of her to be sociable, and she’s never been an introvert. She’s developed her own, blunt, style of handling the political interactions. Raven was the oldest, but also she smallest, the only girl among three boys. Three princes. She learned early to stand up for herself. Raven hates not being taken seriously, for herself and for Feng who’s always been touchy about his lack of sight. His lack of site bugs Raven in a different way. She doesn’t usually mind helping him. What she minds is that even crippled, people still overlook her for him, when she’s the better heir. Raven is just as proud and fierce as any of her brothers, and she’s the eldest. Society scorns her for being a woman and her twin for being blind, even though they are the firstborns of the royal family. As she grows, contempt for that helps her shrug off the opinions of others, making her more reckless.
Oddities: Despite her temperament, Raven can be pretty cunning. She’s spent time reading up on battle strategy, and beating all her friends at chess. She hates losing, so strategy was one of the first things she applied herself to learning, before fighting, or “princess crafts."
Flair: Telepathy. Raven can share and see the thoughts of other people, especially Feng. The closer their relationship, the easier it is. She can also experience the world through those people’s senses.
History: Raven was born first, and immediately put to the side. As a child, she threw tantrums. When she was older she refused to do anything but the lessons Feng was having. Eventually people started to tell her how unusual it was for a girl, especial a princess, to practice fighting. After a while she got tired of it. She went to her mother and demanded to know everything about how to make herself look like the perfect princes. She worked on dancing instead of fighting, she practiced walking in heals and doing her hair and makeup, and she perfected that polite little smile in front of a mirror. She's the same tough, quick tempered “general” she was growing up, but at least she's learned to look a little more like the the elegant diplomat shes supposed to be as an adult.
Feng is the person she feels most comfortable with. Even when they aren’t together they keep in telepathic contact. Raven is Feng’s eyes, literally. And he sees what she hides from the rest of the world. But emotionally they are drifting apart as Feng takes his position as the crown prince and Raven is shunted to the side. Raven knows that’s not his fault and she’ll ignore or hide that gap to stay by his side if that is what he needs. Raven has always been more of a people-person than Feng or Edmund. As the princess it was expected of her. She and Feng were close of course, but she was also close Lief. She had time for him when his older brothers didn’t. And she taught him plenty. She was never very close to Edmund. The knowledge that he was next in line to the throne caused tension between them. If Edmund were ever to succeed that would mean that she had lost her birthright, and worse, something had happened to Feng.

Aren Diagio
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/965601746.png?312)
Aren Diagio
Age: 16
Kin: Foi Diagio (younger brother)
City-state: Valaire
Occupation: Pries-in-training for Reave
Looks: Aren has always been average. He’s not short, tall, particularly strong or weak, ugly or beautiful. His skin is pale from sitting inside and reading. His hair is the same dark brown as Foi’s both shorter and not as messy. His eyes are dark green an observant. His features are reminiscent of Foi’s but not as fine or pretty. He’s easily forgettable in a crowd. It’s a curse and a gift and Aren hadn’t spends time thinking about it. It’s what’s inside that matters to him.
Personality: Aren’s mind is always active and much of his behavior reflects that. He is first and foremost a thinker. He won’t be the first to act, but he’ll already have analyzed the situation. He wasn’t born with any particular talent. Though he enjoys reading and learning more than others even book learning doesnt come easier- or harder- to him. He just uses his mind more. Aren hates it about himself. He wishes he were quicker, brighter, better at remembering an understanding. For somene who thinks as much as he, intelligence is the pinnacle of importance and the thought that his mind is just as average as his body isn’t a comfortable one. Aren isn’t an airhead, he’s the opposite of his brother in that respect; he’s very down to earth. All that thinking and analyzing makes him a little cynical. He’s cautious about things and he worries as he thinks of everything that could go wrong. He’s not, however, very sensitive. Probably because of his cynicism and caution, he doesn’t get very involved in a lot of things. Foi is the major exception. When Foi acts first and thinks later is Aren has no choice but to dive in after his little brother. Foi, he feels, is his responsibly and he doesn’t want anything to happen to him. Despite that all he tries not to remove himself too far. Aren cares. He’s a nice person, even if sometimes he can’t stop himself from being pessimistic.
Oddities: Aren had never been very priestly. He had only ever dealt with death in theories and had never bothered much with dreams. He was terrified that he would catch some disease and die or that he wouldn’t be able to complete the training. But he couldn’t leave Foi, and he couldn’t fail where his little brother didn’t. As time went on Aren felt more at home in the temple, he relaxed. It helped that Foi was so comfortable there as well.
History: Their father died when Aren and Foi were very young. Aren thinks he can still remember a face, but not much else. They had a hard time of it after that, it was hard for their mother to make enough money to support them when she could only work lower class women’s jobs. She wanted so much for Aren and Foi to become merchants or soldiers to command in the army. Aren was expecting to become a scholar or a scribe at the palace. When both his and Foi’s path took them to Reave’s temple their mother was disappointed. Coupled with her grief it put quite a train on her. Their mother’s anger caused tension between them but brought the brothers closer. They comforted and supported each other. When Aren followed Foi to the temple it was for himself as well as to take care of his younger brother.

Tyr Atral
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/941022434.png?398)
Tyr Atral
Age: 15
Kin: Jey (brother), Keera, Gamile (cousins), Miranda (sister)
Drifter
Looks: Tyr is lanky, tall thin and clumsy. He's always got sand in his hair because he is continual tripping. Amore reasonable person would have cut all his dark hair off, but Tyr insists on keeping it nice and fluffy, longer than Keeras. She's always moaning about how much time he puts into his appearance, but it’s worth it, so he does it to bug her. Tyr has the same brown eyes as his siblings, and the same dark skin. He’s not weak, but he won’t be winning any strength contest. He makes up for it by being fast on his feet, and good at hiding. It’s his defense against his sisters.
Personality: Tyr is the most laid back of his siblings. He’s nowhere near as intense as little Keera, not as stoic as Jay, and not as enthusiastic as Gamine. He’s the middle ground of his family, in age and disposition. Back with his family he spent his days playing games, especially strategy ones, practicing archery and avoiding chores. He’d rather argue for an hour than do a chore that would take half that time. Arguing is much more interesting a pastime. Tyr switches between incredibly perceptive and completely obvious Most of the time when he’s oblivious it’s because he’s apathetic, or absorbed in something else. The things that Tyr finds interesting are seemingly random, and for everything else he is, or works to appear, unfazed.
Oddities: Tyr can be stealthy, a superb hunter and pickpocket, unless he falls on his face, and then he’s the worst. He’s not the best and close combat, but he’s a good shot with his bow. He has insomnia, and he’s learned to get by on little. Sleep. It makes him the perfect guard, but he always looks like he’s about to fall asleep on his feet.
History: Tyr always likes spending time with his family, debating, playing games and competing. Life wasn’t easy in the deserts, but they always survived fine, and found things to smile about. Until the raiders attacked. Tyr came closer to death than he ever had before, that night. He was out walking when they attacked and they found him easily. It was miraculous luck that when he ran, he somehow found Jay, escaping with the other children. Especially because when he fled one of the raider threw his knife and it hit him in the leg. Tyr still has the knife, and the scar. And plenty more reason for him not to be able to sleep. Tyr will do whatever he can to protect his family. To help them survive he’ll put aside all of his teenage pettiness. But he’ll also fight to be able to stay try to himself, even though everything.
