A girl with the power to control the boundaries of space, a dragon who can change size. She is unique, the only one in this world, or any other. She is a mystery from another world. Not even I could fully explain her, and many of Xskia's secretes are for her alone to tell. But why don't I start with something easy; her appearance. Xskia could be taken as a shifter; a girl who can change into a dragon, but that isn't true, Xskia was a dragon first and foremost, before she had the power to become any other type of being, and a dragon like no other. She is an elegant cat-like creature, with regal, fierce features. A compact, lithe body, elegant, delicate looking wings, and a graceful tail tipped with a deadly barb, all cloaked in a color that can only be loosely called back. Xskias scales are the same shiny, thick black as spilled ink, before it dries. Shining like onyx when they catch the light. When you stand close they will look reflective like black mirrors, stand farther away and they will turn into pools of blackness, sucking in the light. Contrasting that you'll see at least one streak of bright sky blue and gold, jumping or curling accost her scales, almost as if the colors are alive, not just reflections of light, and who knows, they certainly seem like more than reflections. Xskia rarely changes into a full sized dragon in front of other people. You will see a small black lizard curled around Arowin's neck, or a young girl, friendly, if condescending. Yes, a girl. Xskia has the power to change into a girl. A creature almost the opposite of the fierce dragon. She never looks older than fifteen or sixteen, at her youngest around seven, but she still keeps her grace and beauty with shoulder length auburn curls, soft pale skin and wide eyes of a bright forest green. And of course wings, delicate wings that seam to come strait from her dragon form. They are sky blue; the color of the lightning that races across her scales. Another thing Xskia still has is her fighting skills. She's still deadly with hands and feet, even if she looks like a child, and perhaps act like one too. Xskia almost is a child beside Arowyn and Corem, just a powerful wise one who know things that should be much beyond her time. You might think that it?s demeaning for a being such as her to appear/act like that. Young as she is, Xskia has been through much, and she still chose to be that person. Don?t disapprove of her choice. Xskia still is strong, you must know, even if you can't see it. She'd have to be, to walk beside Corr and Ari. Xskia is a free spirit, she can't be trapped down. She's determined to always try to be cheerful; someone has to be, and its defiantly not Corr. Xskia is a dragon, more than a girl. She is temperamental and shifty. I can't tell you how she'll act; haughty and proud as the Queen of creatures, shy, hiding behind Arowyn, curious, eerily sharp and clear minded, just plain friendly, kind but controlling, or icy cold. Maybe shes a mix of all of those, a creature who cannot be fit into the boundaries that words create. Only Arowyn or Corem could tell you exactly who she really is. Yes Corem and Arowyn, her riders, her family, her bonds. It doesn't mater that Xskia leaves everything else behind when she jumps into a new universe, because they are her world. She understand them like no one else can, she loves them and she would never die for them. She wouldn't leave them alone to the pain of loosing their bonds again. Young as she is, little as she may seem, Xskia will give up everything to protect, to save her riders, and that means staying alive. What more is there to tell you of Xskia?

I see your head turn when I say that name. Yes, I mean that Xskia. The one you heard whispers about, but didn’t truly believe it was her. Maybe you know the legend of another Xskia, and you’re wondering how this dragoness got that name. Maybe you’ve heard a completely different story about her, one that you had no idea was about Xskia, because her name is known throughout Alagaesia for more than just her riders. Some may just know her for being the dragoness of Arowin, or Corem. I say dragon in the loosest term of the word. Xskia is almost as different from normal dragons as the fanghur are. Not that Xskia is anything like those things. I can see my explanations are just causing you more confusion. Riders? You ask, and what stories? What myths of a different Xskia? Let me explain the Xskia here and now, before I get into all that. Xskia’s name Means Azure Shadow. A fitting name for Xskia. In fact I?d be lying if I said any name fit her better. But Xskia isn’t her name. She would be herself no matter what name she carried. She would be the Inky black dragoness, bond of Arowin and Corem even if her name was Irel. You?re surprised as ever to hear me say bonds, aren’t you? It’s quite a story. You see, even from before she hatched, Xskia was not quite a regular dragon. If you knew of Xskia as an egg, you will know she waited a long time for her rider to come. The order said that Xskia would not just hatch for any elf or human, and they were right. Corem is in no way just any rider. Maybe you have heard of him? Believe it or not Corem was forgotten. The riders themselves forgot about him. Except one. There is one who never forgot, never lived a day without having to push the memory of him back. And one egg, waiting for him to come to her. For now, I have only explained Corem. You will learn why Xskia is the only dragon with two bonds latter, for to understand that, you must know of her powers. Xskia isn?t anything, if not powerful. Even with your eyes closed you'll know when you walk into Xskia's presence, you feel her. Even a human could. You won’t feel power as in the energy she holds for her long flights, and rare magic, though that doesn’t me that Xskia is weak. Far from it, she gathered much power in the hundreds of years she sat in her egg. No this power is not that. It is the majesty and command of a queen. Xskia is tricky, even if a magician were to look for the source of the power, they would probably overlook Xskia. Yes, I agree it’s hard to overlook any type of dragon. But still even I’d be a little surprised. When you open your eyes, you'll search for the huge dragon that you think she will be, and perhaps you'll find her as big as Solent, or perhaps you won’t. Perhaps the only dragon you'll see will be a hatching, or the size of a hatching. Don’t be fooled. In any size Xskia is still the same dragon, with the same scales. Yes, perhaps I should begin with her scales. Xskia is black, as I think I’ve mentioned, the way I’ve said that makes it sound flat, or boring, Xskia is anything but boring. She is the same shiny, thick black as spilled ink, before it dries. Shining like onyx when they catch the light. When you stand close they will look reflective like black mirrors, stand farther away and they will turn into pools blackness, sucking in the light. Wherever you are, looking at her you'll see at least one streak of a bright sky blue, or gold, jumping or curling accost her scales. Almost as if they are alive, not just reflections of light, and who knows, they certainly seem like more that reflections. On such a fierce creature- of any size- her wings look slightly out of place. They are so elegant and delicate; though once you’ve seen her you wouldn’t imagine her with any other shape of wings, because it simply wouldn’t match her. They look like the first time they scraped something they would tear, and you’d think she would have a hard time getting off the ground, but on the contrary, they are very strong, on a whole Xskia is stronger than she looks. Her wings look like black silk, arched gracefully. Its hard to describe Xskia in few words, but if I had to pick, then one of they would be graceful. Even though she can be many times larger, just like the elves she moves with a predatory grace. Indeed, a predator she is. Xskia eyes are slitted, predator’s eyes, but they aren’t the usual green or yellow, they are a bright, stunning, sky blue. As contrasting as a flame against the inky black of her scales. Of course, a predator must have its weapons. Her upper jaw is curved and hard like a beak, and when she growl you will see a mouthful of saber-like fangs.Xskias claws are hard and black, like obsidian, not as shiny as the rest of her, but sharper than A riders sword. Strong and sharp enough to cut through the hardest wood with ease. Xskia is compact, though strong, like a wildcat with a long tail, like a cat. Her tail is thin, but not ratlike, just elegant. It has a row of spikes going down it, and the end is a sharp point. If you're a friend then she will make sure it doesn't hit you, but if your not, then it?s a very handy weapon. She also has two rows of spikes on her head, just above her eyes. They add to her fierce appearance, but at the same time are pretty, the same goes for the frill at the back of her head. Though she can open it, like a cobra to scare her opponent, when it’s closed, it looks somewhat elegant. Xskia is beautiful; everything about her is majestic, like a warrior queen, and that she could be. When you see her for the first time chances are you will stand there gawking, surprised But for all her sparkle and power, if Xskia doesn't want to be seen she won’t be; at night she is virtually invisible, but if she climbs into a patch of shadow even in the daytime, you have a hard time seeing her, though Xskia wont slink around, or hide unless she has too. She likes being noticed; Xskia is proud, as she has right to be, but we'll come to that later. Like a cat she knows she is above most, superior to them, but she has accepted that there are some who are her equals; Solent was the draconisis, Xirylian. But she could never be lower than anyone else. She could never be under them. Even though she is a dragon of Vroenguard, even Xirlian is not her superior. She is capable of giving her suggestions, but Xskia answers to no leader, she does not take orders. She answers to nobody but herself. By now you must think Xskia is an aloof snob, and though at times she can be, for any queen has the right to be aloof sometimes, and a queen Xskia is, just in more of a theoretical sense. Xskia doesn?t go around making people bow to her, it’s more of, in her personality she is a queen. Xskia is just her own dragon; the only people she belongs to are her riders. She is inseparable from Arowin and Corem, they are one mind, but if it is possible, Xskia is closer to Corem that she is to Arowin, being his Natral bond, and having been with him for longer. You would think that anybody who shared a mind with Corem couldn’t help being at least a bit a cold as he is, but, though Xskia looks down on others she is not unfeeling like he is. She cares, like a queen for her people. She will help them if they are in need, but if your worries are petty she will scorn you for bothering her. She can be sympathetic, and kind almost motherly, and sometimes it can even annoy her that Core is so cold, but she respects his choice. She knows she wants to be independent, so she will respect that of others. Though Xskia can be nice, ultimately she is a dragon, not a warrior especially, though that would be how you'd explain it. She is a fighter, and she will never let compassion get in her way. In battle she can seem ruthless, but she thinks it’s a pity how many lives go to waste when people try to fight her. Xskia could never grieve for those she kills, because she knows they deserved it, for attacking her. Even if you're part of Vroenguard she won’t grieve for you unless she knows you. If you ever watch Xskia in battle, I can say, theirs a large chance you will stand there, transfixed. She may not be as shingly beautiful as she is flying, but in a dark, terrifying way she is more beautiful. A monster, but still beautiful, like a cat in battle. A monster Xskia can be in battle. When she is truly mad she will shed any mercy she might have had. She turns Icy, emotionless as Corem and unstoppable. Your worst nightmares, but watch out, If you do something unforgivable she'll turn into a fire. Nothing, absolute nothing, can stand in her way. If they do, they die. The only ones who could hope to live would be her bonds, and possibly a few others, such as Thorn or Kyria, and Galby. For all her youth, Xskia rarely acts like hatchling, though she can; nosy and inquisitive, full of questions. Hearing the thoughts of those around her in her egg has not nearly given her enough information. She could be as questioning and energetic as Pipilta, but rarely will you see that, unless you are Corem or Arowin. Xskia can act as old as Core, though even her egg is only centuries old, and she has still only been hatched for a few years compared to Core, but that is this Xskia. In some ways, She is older that Corem, and it is not her way to act so young. Don’t be surprised if you find her the size of a just hatched drakling. A power Xskia has well within her range. You've heard me speak of this power Xskia has, and you want to know what it is, before I said to be patient and learn about this Xskia first, now I think you know enough about her to continue, so I'll tell you. Xskia is the Demidragon. Demi means small you say? Yes, but in this case, her name is not particularly true. There is only ever one Demidragon alive at the time. This is because their mental selves are one being. There is only one demidragon soul. This is the other Xskia’s I have been talking about. Past reincarnations, the same dragon, essentially. When the old Xskia dies, the soul resettles in a different egg, and their memory of their previous life leaves, but sometimes you will catch Xskia remembering things that happened long before she hatched, because her soul has been round for longer than any human memory could ever think. Notice I said human. The first Demidragon was made by the Old Ones. When they sung their spells to bind Magic to their language, a dragon was present, while they were binding their spells something strange happened. I could spend lots of time explaining, and be sure, I will tell you more talker, but for now, I will just say, she gained the power to change size. Normal dragon don't have control over magic like the elves can, and while this is true for Xskia, she must have some magic, to have control over the changing of her size. If Xskia were to make herself as big as Solent, then she would have to rest for days. Though that is about the sum of her power, she gleaned a few extra powers; things that she's still discovering herself. Most people don't know that the demidragon exists, but she does, though she wont boast about it. Xskia doesn’t really seem like she cares about her extra power. To her it's a given. It would be like an elf being thankful they were born an elf. Xskias royal demeanor comes from herself, not her power. She does have power though, and I’m not speaking of magic. She has what every dragon has, claws and teeth, her size and wings, physical things. Whatever size she is, within reason, she is still strong enough to carry her rider, so when she gets bigger, she is stronger than most dragons, but her strength doesn't all come from muscle, if it did she's always be bulky and slow, instead its quite the opposite; Xskias strength comes in part from her being a demidragon,. She is compact and lith, Xskia can go fairly fast when she wants to She wouldn't be able to beat a dragon built for speed, but she's fast enough. She also has the element of surprise; she looked delicate like a dragon barely capable of lifting more than her own weight. That’s not Xskia’s only tool; she can also be completely silent, the perfect spy. Protection spells slide off her onyx scales. It would take an accomplished sorcerer to affect Xskia. Most magic aimed at her seams to bounce off, or just not stick to her. Xskia knows how to use her powers in a battle, using strength more than speed, for that is her strong suet, and her foes wouldn't expect it. Speaking, once more of surprises, I should share Xskias unexpected tool; If things get really bad she can stun her enemy. She can call the energy that makes the blue and gold lightning reflections on her scales, and make herself all bright blue and gold. The change alone would be enough to momentarily stun any human, but can do more than that; any who watch her do this will be dizzy and tired for a few seconds, allowing her to escape, or finish them off. An arsenal of powers even Corem would be proud to add to his collection. Ah yes, that brings us back to the topic of Xskias first rider. The bond between a dragon and a rider is one of the most power magics there is. Though sometimes that may not necessarily mean the pair are best friends, I would certainly say Xskia and Corem are nothing too out of the ordinary. Corem is a hard person to get close too though, and while Core may love Xskia and Xskia him, they are not as close as some other l dragon/rider pairs, Core has Arowin for that, and so does Xskia, and she knows that any hugs she gets will come from her female bond. Maybe some other dragon might have been lonely, but Xskia likes her privacy, as much as Core. Though she still shares his mind that much is evident; though Xskia might still have been queen like, she would certainly have been a kind queen, bonded to Core, some of his coldness leeks in to her. She is now more removed, above it all. Though she is not nearly as cold as Core, and she never will be. I've told you she was made by accident, by the old ones, now let me explain how. Long before the dragon wars the old ones and the dragons were at relative peace, so a dragon- the first demidragon- was part of the ceremony that bound the magic, as a creature outside of it, one who would never use the language. The dragons are the only race to use magic outside of the old language, this is partly because they are dragons, and partly because of that dragon. The dragon was infused with magic, because till then it was not contained by the walls of the old language. The magic seeped into her every pore and took her body, taking over everything, even her elundari. That first dragon gained many talents, many more then Xskia has today. Among them, the ability to change shape, though one of the only abilities she passed down was the ability to change shape. That first dragon became revered, but she didn't live long after the ceremony. When she died, her elundari was left, and it changed into an egg, from witch hatched the first true demidragon. Over the eons Xskia has lived very different lives. A wild dragon, before the elves came, a fighter in the dragon wars, and for a short while, she was even a bond to another elf, during Corem and Arowins lifetimes. Another bond has been you question from the start. How is Xskia bonded to Arowin and Corem? Well, I shall tell you, but I should start the story from the beginning; for you to understand, I will tell you her whole history, that is the history of this Xskia. Of all the eggs Xskia was probably the best choice. She was the drakling who could join the Vroenguard as almost a full rider pair. Corem was no apprentice, and he wouldn’t have gone to training with any new hatchling. Xskia lived with Corem at Vroengard, and that was where she met Arowin and Solent, Corems mate and her bond and, need I say, the Supreme Authority? Many dragons would have been jealous of Arowin, for taking so much of their rider’s time. Xskia accepted that Arowin was there first, and if anyone was going to be jealous, it would be Arowin. Xskia respected Arowin, and loved her, even before they were bonded, if only because of the strength of Corems feelings for her. She thought of Solent as a dear friend, and maybe someday a mate. Both were family. Then the forsworn attacked. Arowin and Solent went to fight the king and his draconis. In the end it was Arowin and Solent against Galby Shrukin and his hordes of Elundari. As Xskia and Core sat, unknowing at Vroenguard, the battle came to its end, Shrukin was dead, Galby missing........and Solent dead. As soon as Corem and Xskia felt Arowins anguish then flew to the dark city, trying to help. It was a blow to both of them, Xskia has lost a dear friend, and Corem’s feelings were for the loss his love felt. Xskia did the only thing she could do, the think only she could do. She bonded to Arowin, becoming the Dragon for both Corem Farinates and Arowin Salavarki. Xskia took them back to Doru Ariba where the Vroenguard paid witness as Arowin chose Thorn as her replacement before she retired. The three left Doru Ariba for the forest of the elves. Corem, Xskia and Arowin are not attached to any order, but if a Vroengard, or elven soldier should need help against the Empire, they have but to ask.

So it's Thorn you wish to know about, my little humanling? I suppose that isn't surprising, and it is your right to know about the one who holds the future in his hands. Not quite literally, but close, though he can be rather inconspicuous for a rider of his skill and standing. Still, you can miss him, nor the golden dragon by his side. Not now anyways, so let me begin. As I've said, if it's just him, on a first glance you won't see anything to catch your attention, but something will make you look back, and then you'll see something that will mesmerize you. It's not his looks specifically, just something about him. Something in him shines. He is not ugly though. Thorn is only half elf, since his father was a human, but the different between his face and full blood elves is hardly noticeable. To most people he will look as fine as any other elf. But still, his looks are hardly his most distinguishing feature. Thorn's hair is a dusty gold color. Since he pays little attention to it, it's longer than usual, and usually falls in his eyes. Its irritating, but he doesn't care enough to actually do anything about it. Most times his hair is messy, but not overly so, because if it were awful, Kit would be on his case. Once you take a closer look at Thorn you will see something in his face that says he's powerful. His nose is strait, and almost sharp, but on the smaller side. His eyes are his most noticeable feature, they are strange red gold, oddly bright, and they catch and hold attention almost mesmerizingly. Sparkling with energy and spirit, they mach Xirylian's color. Thorns eyes show his emotions even when the rest of his face looks emotionless. If you watch closely they tell weather he's happy or surprised, or hurt or angry. When Thorn get really mad, his eyes seam to burn like a demons; a warning to his foes. If his eyes are dead, then something is really bad, but they are almost always shining with life and energy. Thorn does have a lot of energy, much more so than most people would guess. He's close to average high, just a little on the tall side, but not enough to get attention for it. He had a pretty average build as well, but like the rest of the elves he's stronger than he looks, especially for his age. That doesn't mean he looks like a weakling, Thorn does have some muscle, but most of his energy and strength is not physical, but magical. Sometimes it seams like Thorn has so much energy he can hardly contain it. His skin can almost looks like is glowing in the light. Its pale and smooth, but not as alabaster white as some of the other elven. It has too much of a glow in it -literally- to be too pale. Sometimes it can seam like everything about Thorn is full of energy, and power. When he's in full Authority mode even the way he moves can seam powerful, for a purpose, he can even seam arrogant at times, like a king, a perfect mach for Xirylian; the queen. Thorn can remind you of a dragon at times, just for those reasons; how powerful and regal he can be, and let's not forget dangerous. Even without his talent, just with his sword and Xirylian, Thorn could be dangerous. But with his talent, and with it trained he is even more so. With Elundari, Thorn could easily be as powerful as Galbatorix. With all that power, Thorn has to stop and think before he acts, or talks. He has to think about consequences, or he should, but for Thorn it almost seams the opposite at times. He can be very impulsive, diving in headfirst, because, for all his power Thorn is still very young, much younger than Arowin was when she became Supreme Authority. Some would say much more innocent too, but Thorn has had his share of hardships. He has killed before, killed even when he was a child by human standards. That doesn't mean he's a murderer. Thorn will do what he needs to, no matter what it is. That can be what leads him to his quick judgments too. Thorn will take care of a problem as soon as he sees it, and trust that he will be able to take care of the consequences, or that he will be able to tough through them. Maybe his impulsiveness is what has saved him from becoming arrogant and absorbed in his own powers, far above the rest of the world. For sure many humans and even some elves would fall to that, if they had the power Thorn did. Thorn keeps from that by not seeing his power as huge and all powerful. It's just another tool, like a sword or simple spell, and he only very rarely uses all of his power. Thorn prefers to fight with small spells and weapons first, and Thorn is no novice with his golden rider's sword. He can do real damage if his enemy isn't prepared, and he's a decent shot at the bow as well, but up against a true master swordsman, without his other skills, Thorn might be beat. Even against his sister Kit, at archery, anyone smart would bet on Kit. But still, Thorn is someone you want on your side in every battle, for more than one reason. You know I've been talking about his skill and I'm sure if you didn't know already, then you've guessed by now: it's magic. Thorn is a magician and one of the best, especially for his age. He was born with the talent, otherwise he would be much father behind than he is, but that isn't the only reason he's good. When he figured out that he could easily do the little spells he picked up from listening to the other magicians he tried to learn more. The elves notice his interest and watched him, when the saw his talent they taught him more. He used almost all of his time studying magic, after a while they moved him and his sister to Ellsmera so he could learn even more. Thorn has easily mastered spells that elves much older than him would hesitate to try. If he's mad at you, then you would be very stupid not to watch out. Nothing less than an avalanche could throw a wrench in his engine when he's really angry. For all his power, he hardly looks the part, and its not uncommon for strangers to underestimate him; why would someone expect a young half elf boy to be almost as powerful as Arowin? They certainly don't expect him to be Supreme Authority. While this bugs Thorn he usually doesn't let it annoy him too much, and on a few occasions, it may even help him. But Thorn should still be on his guard. His power doesn't mean he is invulnerable, and he is a target. There are elven that are more powerful than him; Arowin Corem and Galby for one, and elves who have about the same power level, though many are hundreds of years older. But once you get to know him, if you see what he's like, then you'll get a reason not to kill him. Thorn can be quite likeable; he's charming, and certainly not ugly, and he seams trustworthy. Thorn isn't nice all the time; nobody is, but he isn't mean or cold. He tends to act somewhat formal with people who aren't his friends. Thorn can even be a little quiet, he doesn't chatter his head off, but, of course, Thorn has his own mind and he will say what is necessary. Thorn can be rather nice to you, unless there is a reason not to be, which he has plenty, but still, usually he wont be rude, unless its for a purpose, like getting someone to do something, or teaching them a lesson, or he's really angry, then he doesn't guard his words. It takes quite a bit to get Thorn riled up. Thorn isn't one to judge people before he knows them, he does have to make some assumptions when he first meets people, to make sure they are safe. Thorn can be stubborn though, once he makes up his mind its hard to change; if he see's you fighting with the Empire, you'll have a hard time convincing him that you're not forsworn. When he makes a decision it's usually final, unless you can find a reason for it not to be. Though Thorn may seem to be nice he isn't really laid back, he just doesn't make a huge show of emotions, in fact he is good at hiding his emotions, Thorn does have a temper as you know. He isn't the most hot blooded, but he can get irritated, and there are a few things he won't forgive. If you ever wanted to kill yourself the easiest way would to be to threaten Xirylian or Kit, because even a small wound, and you'll wish you had never been born. Now, as Supreme Authority, Thorns protection extends to the whole of Vroengard, though the harshest of his wrath Thorn reserves for those people who involve his family, which includes Kit, Tamarix, and Xirylian. If someone ever managed to kill Xirylian, however unlikely that is, Thorn would probably go mad and destroy everything he saw. Once he gets worked up, Thorn thinks a little irrationally, and he tends to be more relaxed with his control, making him even more dangerous. The one trait though, that made Arowin hesitate to name him Supreme authority, is that sometimes when he gets an idea, he'll forget his magic, and his Authority, and dive in, even if it is a irrational , but that's what Nyneve is there for. Still, though Arowin couldn't have made a better choice. However reckless Thorn may be, he won't let his choices harm others. Never once in his life has his first goal been to keep him alive. It has always been to protect his sister, Kit. And when he bonded, Xirylian became his first priority, and now it's all of Vroengard. Thorn is so renowned for being the Suprime Authority, you'd be surprised how short a time he has been the leader of the order. Truth be told, Thorn is one of the youngest people ever to lead the Order, though I'm not saying he is immature. Thorn has gone through more that most humans do in there entire lifetimes. He keeps his past to himself most of the time. What I do know, is how Thorn found Xirylian. Kit and Thorn took shelter in the choosing cave, and that's where Xirylian hatched for him. They are an effortless pair. No dragon and rider has ever been closer, more natural. I don't need to go into depth about how deep their bond is. It is like they are once person, one being. Just that simple. Not ever Kit was as close to Thorn as his dragon is, and that is really saying something. Kit and Thorn have been all each other has had from the time they were born to the time they both bonded to dragons. When Thorn is mad, Kit is the first person you should look to, to calm him down. Not Xirylian. She'll be just as mad as her rider is. I suppose you could count Thorn as lucky. Not many people have two being as close to him as Kit and Xirylian are. If you don't get that love, don't get that he'll fight like hell to protect the two of them, then you're just going to have to wait and see him fight. I would suggest you not be on the receiving end of that attack. That goes for the rest of him to. Thorn is much more resilient then anybody gives him credit for, because his past was bad, worse than anybody would guess, from his cheery personality. What actually happened is for him to tell. You want to know more about my Brother? I suppose your one to always have questions. Aright, while you don't hear my brother talk of his past, I have no trouble recounting his story. I don't know why he doesn't tell it himself; maybe it is simple because he doesn't count his life as meaning anything before he met Xirylian. Thorn and I have come a long way since the days when we were looked down upon. You see, Thorn and I are only half elf, and we were scorned for the blood we gained from our father. Our father was a human, but he fought alongside the elves and dragon riders in the war against the Empire. That was how he met our mother, an elves warrior maid. When Thorn was seven and I four our father died. In a battle he was fatally wounded. Our mother refused to give up, and let him die, no matter the costs. She tried everything to heal him, throwing away caution. She put her soul into the magic, but the wounds were too much. Mother was not a healer, and her magic was much too weak. She used her life force and died. Despite all her efforts, the healing was not enough, and our father died too. They left us, their two young children, now orphans before they would have a chance to remember their parents. Thorn took care of me for nearly three years, before the Elf queen heard of us and took pity. She came to find them and brought us back to her palace in Ellesmera. We were raised there, and when we were old enough, we worked there. We worked for the queen as anything that she needed, most as spell casters, or energy lenders, for as young elves their power were greater than the others. And that is how they found out about Thorns gift. When he could easily cats a spell the first time he tried, the tested him, and upon realizing his skill, took him to training. Both of us had training with weapons, but for most of the day Thorn was with the scholars, learning how to ply his true craft, Magic. He studied for years, becoming one of the finest spell casters in the entire forest, but those days could not last forever. One day, we got word that our human grandfather had died, making us heirs to an earldom that would have passed to our father, had he been alive. Galbatorix was not happy that an earldom of his land was now held by two elves, even if we were half elves. Especially when he got word that they were giving the land to the resistance. We didn't know what to do with it, and certainly didn't want to live on and govern it, so we gave it to a small group of humans opposed to Galbatorix, who needed the land, and the safety of an earldom. The Empire wouldn't let it happen.Galbatorix sent his top assassin and magician after us. The assassin and magician chased Thorn and I from the Du Weldenvarden across Alagaesia, despite the fact that thorn turned a lot of them into trees and animals, the king didn't give up. We somehow made it to Vroengard and hid in the Choosing cave, where the protective magic kept us safe. We escaped from the assassins and magicians, but something else happened, something I would never have guessed would. One of the dragon eggs hatched for me, and Xirylian hatched for Thorn. Though we grew up in Ellesmera Thorn will always say his home is in Doru Ariba, with the order.

So you wish to know about Thorn? not surprising, though he is rather inconspicuous for someone of his skill, but let me begin. when you first look at him he wont catch your attention. his hair is a dusty brown color, and usually untidy. his eyes are a sparkling Amber, they shine with his power. his face is a hansom an any other elfs, with the same sharp elegant features, though only his mother was an elf, nobody would guess that he wasn't pure elf.. Thorn is medium, height and build, but for his size and age is is very strong, but not all physically, most of his strength is in magic. Thorn is polite enough. he isn't really outspoken, or rude, but he has his own mind, he will say what he thinks he must. Thorn will be nice to you, unless he has a reason not to, and he is not one to judge a person until he knows them, but one he makes his decision its hard to change his mind. Thorn is someone to respect, not because he is dangerous if you dont, but because he is worth of it. though Thorn may be nice he isn't really laid back, he just doesn't make a huge show of emotions, in fact he is good at hiding his emotions. Thorn can ge worked up, and their are a few things he wont forgive. If you hurt hims family or good friends, or his dragon.and one he is mad at you, he is incredibly dangerous. even Arowin should watch out, if he had a reason to hate her, though he doesn't. Thorn wont rush in to things, he stops to think, though he can think fast. he can seam like he is just jumping in, but he always has a plan, or an idea of what to do. with his gift he has to think, or hundreds could end up dead. with all his thinking, thorn is incredibly smart.he is cunning and tricky. its almost impossible to trick Thorn and if you did, it would just be a waist of energy, because he would get out. the only time you could keep Thorn was if he mad the choice to stay, to help a friend. Thorn is someone you want on your side, for more than one reason. All this time I have been hinting at a power, now I will tell you of it. Thorn is a magician, but not only that, he is the best, he was born with his talent, and spent his life studying it, Thorn has mastered spells easily that even the most advanced elf would hesitate to try. Even Arowen, even Core should watch out, if he had a reason to hate them. some say that with the help of elundari, he could be the one to beat Galbatorix, and it may be true, for thorn has another weapon, his dragon, when Torn came to Vroenguard, the golden egg hatched for him, millennial old she is very powerful. They complete each other, one whole being, Thorn wouldn't leave Vroenguard for anything, he has found his place. But now I willl tell you about his history. Thorn and His sister Kit grew up with the varden, but then their partents, and elf and human lord died in a battle they inherited their fathers earldom. Not wanting them to have this power, Galbatorix tried to kill them, and they were moved to Ellsmira to be kept safe, but after long last they traveled to vroenguard and found their place.

Time touches everything differently. Some grow; some shrink, some corrupt and die. And In the end the universe has not changed. The stars go on burning and dying and reforming. Civilizations go on rising and falling. People are born and they fight and they die. Time ages some faster than other so that years are not always a true gauge of age. Mirror has seen hundreds of summers and hundreds of winters. She’s weather wars and strife. And her age is immeasurable; she is ancient, and immortal and ageless. Mirror was born in the beginning of a new era, as the dragon wars came to a close. She was always drawn to the dragons more than elves or humans. They were similar, both more animalistic, and yet higher evolved that almost any other creatures. Mirror was knows in Vroengard, but she never made her home there. Instead she chose a life in the forest, living in solitude, or places unknown by others. Mirror watched the ride of the riders and felt the pain of the great plague. Mir had little choice when she pulled away form the Vroenguard and left them to find safety. She found the last of the Werecats in Alagasia and stayed with them. When the war started though, that’s safety evaporated. At the beginning of the war Galbatorix tried to enslave her and her kind and Mir lost everything. Her family, her friends, the rest of her people all gone in one bloody fight. Those that were still able to move fled the land. But Mir couldn’t leave. She stayed hidden for another hundred years before she left the depths of the forest. She went to the black city once, a journey that took all of her courage. They she saw her nightmare, the tragedy of her kind. Thestral. The last werecat besides her turned traitor to his kind and himself. That brought her rage back and summoned her courage. She turned her back on her shadowy safety and went to Arowin, the Supreme Authority. The leader of Alagaesia’s only hope. Arowin was a name she’d known for a long time, and a face she remembered from before she’d left. The Vroenguard has seamed to hold little for her before. All of her closest friends were dead and gone, killed by the plague and the King. But that hardly mattered now. Mir wasn’t there for the dragon riders; she was there for a friend help slave in the dark city. And in the end a common goal brought her closer to Arowin and other riders as well. She promised to help Arowins cause as well as she could. So Mir, for the first time, took up residence at Vroenguard, teaching the young elves. Her mate was dead and she’d had no children in all her years. Students were as close as she would get to children. Until Arowin asked her to raise her own son. Mirror was at Vroenguard when the elf Queen came in secret to Arowin and begged her to take Adjaniva. The princess was the same age as Apollo Ferinates and Arowin found she could not take care of her children and rule the dragon rides. So Mirror took them and went deep into Du Weldervarden where both of them would be safe. There she raised them and taught them to follow their parents footsteps. She raised two powerful, independent children, both from extraordinary lineage, and both with the skills to follow in their parent’s footsteps, but go on to make their own impressions on the world. Mirror has been many things in her years and she had much knowledge to pass on. But some things she could not. Mirror has found her own wisdom and her own instincts as a cat, neither of which she can teach. She has been a warrior and a coward, she has fought and hid, loved and lost and won. She thinks like to elf or human and follows the instincts of a werecats that others cannot understand. The pain of many hundreds of years makes her kind, unwilling to see anymore, but it also makes her cruel and hard. She knows how changeable time is, and yet how humans and elves will make the same mistakes over and over again through the years. She’s seen how blood is shed and lives are lost for nothing and how there is no way to stop it. Mir is tired of the world, but she will work to the end of her days to help. Some days you can see her years in her, you can see how her fur has grown long and untidy at times, how her eyes are dark and full. And other times you’ll see how much tie she still has left, in her energy and ferocity, in how sharp her mind has always been. Anybody how has lived for a millennium becomes full to contradictions and are not really contradictions, they are just the changing of the years mixed with what will always stay the same. Mirror is as cunning as a snake and her rage is something to be feared. She cannot command magic with the old language, but the werecats have their own ways and old magic that still lives inside them, as in dragons. Werecats are miseries in their own world. Their knowledge of themselves, kept to themselves so that they are alien to everybody they share their lives with. It is both a boon and a curse. Mir does not need to employ masks or tricks to hide herself. The ignorance of the elves and the humans hides her well enough. But there are few others in the world who understand her, only her own kind and not many others. Mirror has known love in her life, and that happiness made the loneliness all the more painful. Mirror appearance cannot reflect all of what she is. She still appears as timeless as she always has her face ancient and young at the same time. And as regal as a queen, even with mud smeared on her coat, with her nose held high and her shoulder straight she shines with the confidence and power of an empress. Mirror is comfortable in both shapes, the strange immortal child of her two-legged form is just as accurate in showing that side of Mir, but nobody can argue that it’s in her cat for that she truly glows with al the grandeur of her kind, something to rival even a dragon. She is delicate and ladylike, but her soft coat and the delicacy in her movements do nothing to cover the raw wild power in her when she roars. Mirror is not large like a lion, but neither is she compact like a lynx. Her fur is soft and creamy white, the tip of each hair is an iridescent metallic that gives her a sheen, making her ghostlike silver, or liquid gold when the light catches it right. Mirror is lean and long, her coat fluffing to give her extra mass, and her tail a thick elegant banner rising behind her, a darker tuft at the end. In either for she is agile and fast. But one of her grates advantages is the strength no opponent expects her to have. Mir’s eyes are an orange color that seams like it can change from a lighter gold, to match her coat, to deep red. They are old eyes, filled with energy and knowledge. They re the feature that proclaim that she is Mirror, the werecat of Vroenguard, no matter what form she’s in. In her two-legged form Mir has a child’s body, but her face looks almost as feline as in her other form, and there is no mistaking her for anybody but Mir. It’s something deeper that sight that links the little girl’s body to the grand cat. In her elven for she keeps her tufted ears, but her hair is a deeper orange, all of the gold in her coat, and none of the silver. It falls around her face and over her shoulders, feathery and soft as her coat. There’s something entrancing about her. She’s beautiful in both forms, but it’s more than that. It’s her history written in her, how time has touched her as she has grown and shrunk, corrupted and purified. How she has risen and how she shall fall.

Jey is in no way like any other elf you have ever met, and his family isn't the least of it. Let me explain. Jey's sister is Ajaniva. Maybe you've her her name, maybe you haven't. Ajaniva is the daughter of the last elf queen. When she was born she was taken in by Arowin and hidden in the Forest by Mir, the were-cat, to keep her safe. Now, if your smart you've made the connection and realized that being the brother of the elf princess, he would become the king. Though Jey is not Ajaniva's twin he was born just a few years after her, which is very rare among elves, almost unheard of. Jey was not sent away for a few reasons. First, there was nowhere for him to go. Second was, that though the empire didn't know Ajaniva existed, they somehow knew that the elf queen had had a child. So he stayed and the empire didn't have any reason to believe Ajaniva existed. Jani is a smart girl, and she should thank her brother, he has giving up much for her. But she can't, for she left just days before he was born and has no knowledge of him. If doesn't seam fair that Jani has as little knowledge of her brother as the empire has of her- that is to say, she doesn't know he exists- while Jey grew up in her shadow, always hearing of her greatness. But the Queen has always likes her daughter best. Maybe it is because she is the heir, or maybe it is because she is a girl, or maybe it is for some secret reason that no one will ever know. She risked her son's life, just to know that her daughter was safe. In fact she risked very much, just to know that her daughter was safe. The Queen did love her son and she kept him as safe as possible and taught him well. And on his part, Jey didn't care for three reasons. First, growing up and hearing so much about how his sister was wonderful, many would hate her, but not Jey, he was proud to be helping protect a sister who was so great, second Jey doesn't want the crown, so its best that Jani is safe and alive to take it when the time comes, and third, Jey likes danger. But when the elf council voted that Jani would not become queen? that meant all Jey has done was wasted. The elves were acting just as stupid as humans when they did this, for Jani would be a better ruler than any other they could find. Now that I have told you about his family let me tell you the other thing that makes his so very different for every other person in Alagaesia; his dragon, Vassilia. She is just as bit as unique as Peshperinjey is. Well, for starters she isn't really a Dragon at all, but one of the Dravon Folk. If she were a dragon she would probably still be just as different. It's still shocking to Jey that the Dravoness bonded to him. Maybe she felt his royal blood, but most probably it has nothing to do with that. Jey first met her when he came up on a group of solders attacking her. He didn't know why, but something told him if wasn't for a good reason so he intervened, and saved her. She must have followed him, for less that a week later he was attacked by a similar group of solders, and she saved him. In that last battle Jey was hurt badly and she stayed and helped him, in the time afterward they git to know each other, and eventually Vassilia picked him as her 'Chosen' witch is like a Dravons mate, but for them, they were more like best friends. being a Dravons Chosen is similar to being their bond, but their isn't really any magic connecting them. I suppose I can't keep you here forever so I will some on to Jey's appearance. His face is somewhat similar to Jani's, but you wouldn't make the connection unless you say them standing side by side. Jey is tall and lithe. He is thin, and his best weapon is is speed an agility, but he is stronger than he looks. His hair is a dark gold, closer to brown than blond, but like I said it is neither. It is pure gold. All elves are good looking buy Jey, may just be one of the most handsome. His face is entrancing you cant look away, like fire, fire is so beautiful they you cant look away, and at the same time it can be paralyzing for fear. Jey's face is the same way, beautiful, so you can look away, but the threat, the danger is to great. Jey's eyes are dark brown and they usually always gleam with mischief, like he is about to pull a prank. But is most prominent feature- well, feature may not be the right word - is his catness. Jani is catlike, and her brother is just as cat like as she is. Elves hears are pointed, but his are the ears of a cat, his eyes too are slitted like a cat, as a cat has better senses than a human his 'cats' senses are better than a normal elves. You expect him to grow whiskers, and he does. Jey made himself a spell that allows him to turn into a cat and back again easily using very little energy, this is very useful to him, and his allies. Now that you know what Jey looks like let me tell you what he acts like. But before I do that, I have something else to tell, Jey's fighting ability. Jey is excellent at fighting; he spent most of his time in Ellesmere learning how to fight from the best teachers. Only someone who's had as extensive of training as Jey could ever hope to beat him, but if they had had as much training as him, they would win, as his skill is not with the sword, meaning about 25% of elves are better than him at the sword. But his true skill is with the bow, he could hit the center of the target three out of ten times when he was two years old, and when he started lessons, he excelled, passing everybody. After three months of lessons he was as good as elves who were almost fifty. And he kept on learning, it is natural for him, and he loves hit, he hits the center every time, even without trying. He is the best Archer alive at this time. His bow is very special, it was made just for him, and though it may not look like much, its imbued with more power than you would imagine it could hold. Jey can be somewhat arrogant, it's his right, after all he is the elf prince, but he knows not to over do it. He is a good leader, he can be calm, and cool headed if he needs to be, but, most of the time he doesn't stop to think, he just dives right in. Jey isn't very patent, and though he is very intelligent, he prefers just to do it, not stop to think, this can be a flaw, or a good thing, depending on the situation, but his hot hotheadedness balanced perfectly with his bond. He can also be a bit of a daredevil, but Ike I said before Jey likes danger, he's very brave, really, he doesn't see anything to be afraid of. To his thinking, the only thing you need to be afraid of is a foe that can best you, and no one can best Jey, or no one has yet. Jey can be very emotional, or as cold as a rock, depending on what is happening, if he loved someone, they would probably know, and he would give his life to save any rider a few humans and some elves, but to other he will stand their and do nothing, depending on who they are and what they have don. Jey has a farsighted, he can tell a bit about a persons future, and while some may consider this a gift it is nothing but a burden, for if Jey feels that a person will do something very bad later in life, even if they are a fried, or a have a good heat, he must let them die. Though Jey doesn't like to dwell on anything dark or sad, so I won?t ether. Jey is very fast, he likes jumping from one thing to the next, and unless your very interesting its hard to hold his attention, and you cant hold him down, no one gives orders to Peshperijay. Like I say he is very intelligent, and he can only say on one topic for a little bit, before getting bored. And with his wisdom comes trickery, Jey is very cunning, he is a good liar. Jey can gather knowledge very well, and he never lets on how much he knows, he tries to trick you, you wont ever see it coming. Jey is hansom and their is just something about him that make people like him, so he uses this, Jey can be Charming, so charming that for the next few days you wont think of anything else, this alone can get him almost everything he wants, but if not he has other ways, their is no stopping him. Peshperinjey has a good heart, he is naturally kind, but, like a lot else about him, his niceness depends. Now that I think of it, maybe I should have told you about his history first, for he has gained a lot of his personality form his experience, though, I think he was born acting like that too, so here it is, his history. As you know when he was born he was proclaimed the queen son. he has to go to meeting, and have special tutors, to learn how to become king, though most of his time he still managed to spend learning how to fight, and use magic, or just playing in the forest. but he was rarely alone, for even though his mother cared for Ajaniva better, she still worried about her son, and he was guarded against an attack from Galbatorix almost constantly, finally when he was judged able to defend himself well enough the guards were taken away, and he was able to leave Ellesmere. He traveled alone for a few years, revealing in that he was not surrounded all day. He near his sister and Apollo for a while, but as he didn't want Jani to know he existed he kept his distance, he even traveled to Vroengard for a short time, and all the while he told no one that he was the elf queens son, except for one person. When he finally settled in a small city of elves he met someone there, they became fast friend, and after he trusted her with his secret they almost became mates, but she was killed by a Shade. He and her friend went after it and killed it, though it was not Jey who struck the last blow. Jey had never felt so sad in his life, as when she died, to this day he wont say her name, and if anyone asks him about it he will snap at you to mind your own buisness. He never wanted to have a friend again, but as he traveled more, the grief wore off and he met many more people. Jey returned to Ellesmira when his mother disappeared. He though he would have to meet this sister, but the council voted that she would not become queen, because of her contact with Arowin. They said as his mothers son he could not either, but Jey wasn't too disappointed. After that was when he met Vassilia. After they met, they traveled together, but they never went to close to Ellesmere, Uru'bean, or Vroengard. Vassilisa wasn't event a dragon, Vroengard would be boring to Jey, and neither of them will ever give their allegiance to any person, so being a rider of Vroengard is out . To Jey it would be the worst thing he could do, to be under someone. No one is his leader or his superior, and no one ever will be, but he would be an asset to Vroengard, and if they want his help, they will have to understand that they have no hold on him, he could switch sides if he wanted to, and he wont take orders. But I suppose Jey may choose to make his home on the Isle of the riders, and fight with them. He has always wanted to get to know the famous Arowin, because of how much he has heard of her and because she is his sisters adopted mother. It is his goal to topple the empire. Not to see Galbatorix killed, but to see a ruler who deserves the tital on the thrown, one who will be fair and kind, one who is as made for the job as his sister was made to be elf Queen.
Srytzia-Xindari-Varjio

To really know her, you'll have to meet her. My description can’t do justice-or rather injustice- to her. But I suppose any description is better than being dead, which is what will probably happen if you meet Srytzia. But here, you are a human; you can’t even hope to understand. At her most simple she is the embodiment of discord. Her true name, you could not pronounce, only one of her kind can, one who has killed millions at a whim. To us, to everybody but her, her name is Srytzia Xindari Varjio. That tells us near nothing, but even her name has something of her in it. You can tell it is not a normal name, and yet it is fitting, for Srytzia is in no way, normal. Though, I can you would have misjudged her, you would not have though she was a shade. You would have assumed she was a dark elf, one whose mind is broken, or a poor lost little girl. That is certainly what she can look like. You would think that even if she is, she will still fit in here, in the palace of a tyrant, murderer King. Srytzia is not a creature that could be said to have the ability to fit in. not in a world of humans and dragons and elves. She is a spirit. She is different from anything and everything else. But if there were a place in this world of humans and elven, of otherminds as she thinks of them, that she would be less out of place, it is in Uru’baen. With the draconisis and the king who is almost as mad as she is. But I don’t think it makes much of a difference. Srytzia would have been just as different, wherever she was, and she could have easily lived in Vroengard, for she has no affiliation in the war of the otherminds. I think, if you had even really heard anything about her, you would have had no doubts that she was a shade. To just look at her you may think it impossible that this little girl is hiding so much chaos and power inside her, that there are so many that fear her. And its not just respect because she is one of the highest ranking being is the empire. Srytzia has power. But for all that she doesn’t look anything like you might assume. The sorceress who called the spirits who make up Srytzia was eight at the time. She was just a powerful apprentice who read the wrong thing and had the wrong mentor. She had no more than started the spell when she lost control and the spirits killed her, but magic she had done was enough to trap them inside her body. Srytzia’s body is short, only barely over three feet tall, and slim. The things Srytzia feeds on are not what a human body needs to sustain itself. If the soul living in her body had still been human she would have been dead long ago. Srytzis keeps the muscles moving with her own indescribable powers. Her size and the weakness of her physical body could have been a disadvantage, but not to Srytzia. I can tell you how she keeps her body going and stronger than ever. She is made up of spirits. The way she thinks and does things, its indescribable, there are no word for it, because nobody know what really happens to assign words to it. What we can tell, however, is what she looks like. Srytzias skin is a dark gold, burnished looking, almost like a dark tan. Her eyes are the first thing your eyes will find on her face. They stand out; they are a bright yellow, not an amber or even a yellow/greens like a cat. They are deep yellow, like the heart of a flame. Some people, you can tell what they are thinking from their eyes. Srytzias shows you nothing. They may have been windows right into her mind, but everything in her is chaos. Its miraculous Srytzia doesn’t act twice as bad as Galby. I suggest not watching Srytzia for long. If you do, you may see her eyes glisten with murder of euphoria at the horror she is responsible for. Speaking of horrors, let us talk about her hair. Simply put, it’s a nightmare. If she had taken care of it, it would be long and silky, falling past her waist. She doesn’t think about it, but fleetingly, so every other week or so her hair will look good, but in the meantime, it’s a mess. Its red, crimson almost, the same color as spilled blood. In her own, horrifying way, Srytzia is almost beautiful. She’s not pretty, but mesmerizing, like a raging fire. She’s beautiful in her danger. A dare-devils delight. Even if your adapt at reading people, you will find Srytzia hard to read. She looks like and eight year old after all, so every emotion is different from what they would be and expecting, and its hard to say if Srytzia even has emotions, or just impulses. Then again appearances can be deceiving. Sometimes Srytzia may look like an innocent young girl. She is anything but innocent. Srytzia kills tortures and blows things up randomly, at will. She is unpredictable at best and totally, absolutely random at worst. There is no way to describe how she acts, because she is constantly changing. If an othermind looked into her mind, they would find a chaotic mess, but to Srytzia it’s her own way of organizing. Her mind may be a mess to the otherminds, but not to the shade. To herself, she is in perfect order. I wont waist time saying Srytzia really has a personality. She does have a few traits that make her herself, or they would, if she were an othermind. Srytzia acts like she is still innocent, giggling when someone points a sword at her, smiling when she gives a death threat. She views everything as a game. An important game, for she’s playing it with her whole life, but a game none the less. If another spirit were to look into her mind, I’m sure they would find it just as normal as one othermind looking into a second otherminds mind. She’s just different, but some can learn to understand her, or at least how she acts. If you don’t look in her mind, she doesn’t seam so very different from those around her. She reacts the same. With surprise or delight or interest, or, I suppose, fear. Most other creatures she will shove aside. They are just ants. But favored humans will become favorite pets, or toys she will be gentle with. The draconisis tough, she acknowledges. She respects Kyria in her own way and sees Lak Azar as an equal, almost. But as a spirit she thinks of her rank as spate from the humans. She is not a part of their silly ranks. She feels no need to rule them. Who wants power over ants? With her powers Srytzia could easily rule the empire, second only to Galby and Kyria, above even the other draconisis. If she wanted that power, Kyria would have to watch out, fortunately for the draconis women, Srytzia doesn’t, so they are able to live in....harmony. If you still want to know more about the shade, I would suggest going to the riders. They have dealt with her kind before. They will know more about her kind than I do. Unless you are completely prepared, I don’t suggest going to Uru’baen. Well, good luck in your hunt for information. I have told you all I know, so I will be going now.

![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/4098475.jpg?314)
Blood doesn’t make us. The blood pumping through our heart
is ours alone. No mother or father can lay claim to it, and no blood can lay
claim to a legacy of a parent. Out footsteps, our choices are what make us. We
are the ones who give our blood its worth, we make ourselves, no matter what
helps sculpt us. It wasn’t the Queen who was forced to send her away, nor the
hero who claimed her not the werecat who taught her that made Adjaniva. It was
Jani herself. She was born in Du Weldervarden to the last elf Queen. She would
always be the princess, but at the time she was still the heir as well. When
Galbatorix threatened, the elf queen was forced to send her daughter away to
keep the knowledge of her birth from the despot. It was a mother sentiment that
might have saved Jani, but it didn’t save the Queen any worry in the end- only
a few years later she gave birth to a son, Jey. Galbatorix found out about his
existence before he could be hidden as well. The Queen could risk hiding him
after that for fear that if the Empire searched for him, they’d find Jani. The elf queen begged a favor out of Arowin,
and old friend, to take her daughter, and she agreed. But Vroenguard was no
place for a young child, instead Jani was given to another old Friend. She was
sent to become the ward of Mirror the Werecat, to be raised alongside Arowins
own blood child, Apollo. The two spent their childhood together as siblings. Jani
had only faint memories of her time in Ellsmera, and no knowledge of any other
mother but Arowin. She knew nothing of
her yonger brother, or the fate that awaited her as Queen of the elves. Fortunately
or not, that fate was averted before it could fall without her ever being the
wiser. When the Elf Queen was killed in battle the council decreed that
Adjaniva would not succeed her. She had not grown up with her people, and it
was time to move on from a monarchy. The happenings in the capitol and the
knowledge she never had never bugged Jani. She grew up to follow great
footsteps without any of it. She is the
princess of Du Weldervarden, and yet the daughter of the hero Arowin and the
ward of the werecat Mirror. Jani grew up
as Apollo’s twin, hardly knowing they shared no blood. She was just as proud of
Arowin as any of her blood children. The hero of the Vroengard. The Salavarki
at the head of the resistance, fighting alongside Solent the great emerald
dragon. A leader who surpassed even Jani’s true mother. Jani never had a
father, never met him before he died and Corem, rival in arms to Arowin so he
was, was never a father to her. And yet, it wasn’t all of that. It wasn’t her
blood, or even her love and pride for Arowin that pushed her to become who she
did. It was what was inside her that did. Adjaniva is gold and fire, in her temperament
and looks. She has the same surreal beauty
as all elves, sharp features and slanted eyes.
There is a delicacy about her looks, but only superficially. Her eyes
glow golden and bright, jewels set in creamy white skin. There’s something
proud and fierce in them. Her hair is bright as well, a radiant copper red than
falls in thick waves past her waist. It used to be the same silver blond that
many elves share, but that didn’t suite her as well. It’s been some shade of red
since she first learned magic. Jani can use her magic for more than cosmetics
though. She quite an accomplished sorceress, more so than with other weapons. It
come easy to her, it’s flexible and molds to her will. There’s nothing quite as
intimidating as turning to see her behind you, her eyes reflecting the light eerily,
and her read hair flowing out behind her, one hand raised with a glowing ball
of fire. It’s how she used to bully Apollo, and the last thing any robbers or
Kinds soldiers would see. Jani is the wild one of the pair. She’s just as tall
and Apollo, easily as fit, because he’s scrawny, she’ll say, and twice as stubborn.
She’s the hot tempered trouble maker, sarcastic and sharp tongued. She’s independent,
a leader not a follower, and very proud. She has a hard time taking advice or
orders of any kind from anybody. Apollo and Mir are the only ones who can get
her to listen when she’s really being hard headed. Apollo is the trickster, the
cunning strategist, he’ll beet her at chess every time, but Jani isn’t stupid.
She had her own kind of intelligence. She knows how to get what she want, how
to inspire people and get them to listen. And what she lacks in chess with
Apollo, she makes up for with force. She’s loud and demanding, even cruel in
battle. She’s cynical, but not unkind the rest of the time. She’s not a petty
prankster like her brother, but neither is she above giggling about it with
him. Adjaniva left with her brother when they were both nearly 70 to travel to
Vroenguard and find their famous mother. That journey changed much for the two
siblings it was along the way that Apollo found the dragon egg that would hatch
for him, and made his promise to join the order of his mother, and it was on
the island of the riders that Jani learned the truth of who she was. She left
Apollo there, unwilling to the join the riders. She had always been too independent
for that, and now, knowing what she did she had too many questions and doubts
to settle down, especially under Arowins control. She traveled to Ellsmira to
meet her brother, she found imperial soldiers, and then she met Akarui, the
golden dragoness who hatch for her. Who completed her. Jani is still growing
into her fierce pride that seems too big for her, but with beautiful, shining
Akarui standing beside who is there to question her? Jani has everything, she made
herself, grew into someone as great as the predecessors of Arowin and the queen
of the elves should be, and yet she is her own person, separate from them, independent
and beautiful and proud. She had made her own path, and her own blood.
Sarth Andreles
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/630692.jpg?307)
Sarth fits right in at the palace in Uru’Baen. Everything about her seems cool and calculating. She’s tall and willowy and curvy. Beautiful for a human, in an icy way. Soft wispy hair falls below her shoulders in midnight black waves. It’s a color that fits her, a child who grew up under Galbatorix. Her skin is pale as if she barely see’s the sun. Her face is thin except for full lips and eyes large in her face. Their deep, bright blue calling attention and compliments from the courtiers. Her cold attitude matched her appearance. Cold and apathetic, looking the other way as everybody at the court does. But underneath, she’s not hard. She’s just a scared little girl with as much reason to hate her uncle as anyone else, thought she would rather die than admit it. Sarth is ambitious. She wants the throne. She’s learned from the most powerful and she wants that power, she wouldn’t throw her life away with a mistake and she’s learned to lie, and lie about her lies. She’s learned to mask her feelings and use them to her advantage. Many things can become tools in her hand. But Sarth would be a good ruler, better than her uncle the king. She understand the people, knows their pain so she’d have to help them weather she planned to or not. Sarth is fair, in power and a balanced thinker. She is a sorceress as well as a thinker and she can hold her own in a fight. Sarth can be fast and fierce and cruel. She won’t let little things get in her way. She was raised as galby’s ward and learned many things from watching him. Her mother was a sorceress working for the king when his brother fell in love with her, but only a few months after Sarth was born her parents mysteriously disappeared. She was a jewel, to be looked at and to not say anything, then an efficient tool. Sarth is not innocent, she’s seen thing and heard things and done thing for her uncle that would surprise many. You’’d never suspect her of knowing such things. Of even of having such strong ambitions. Lak Azar saw though, and he hatched for her. They helped each other to grow powerful, the Dravon and the almost-princess. Sarth almost grew attached to him, somebody who needed her, somebody cruel like she was, but week like she was too. It hurt her when he left her as the dravons grew in power and it hurt her even more when Kyria and the human man took the throne when her uncle disappeared. She dwindled to just a shadow in the palace, but she never forgot her ambitions.
Lunarkey (one of my first descriptions ever!)
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/9349104.jpg?355)
A huge male dragon, his scales are almost Opaline, his initial color is hard to tell, he is not silver, and his scales are more shimmery than white. but they have a sheen of green accost them. Lunar is larger than most other dragons, even though for a dragon he is not that old yet. It has been about three hundred years since he hatched, but he was in his egg for hundreds of years before that. Lunar is very strong, but he is gentle, unless he is fighting. he can be very fierce, and he is faster that you would expect for a dragon of his size. as he was in his egg for a rather long time, he is 'older' than Alex Ari or Ember, and he is sort of their leader, like a king he can be proud and superior, but he still respects Solent, though he is not the most respectful, if he is in the mood he can be very argumentative, or not listen at all, and he refuses to believe that any creature could be 'better' than him-or dragons in general- if you earn his trust he will never let you down.
Raya Lakimi
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/2297948.jpg?316)
Raya Lakimi is a tall thin elf woman, her hair is brown, but in it are streaks of black and gold. Her eyes are green and seam to always sparkle with tears; they are sad eyes, a tribute from her past. Her beauty is surreal even for an elf, she may even be one of the most beautiful elves, but Raya doesn't care she would give it all up, in a second. Her skin is cream colored and flawless, except for a small scare just below and to the side of her right eye. In anyone else it might have ruined their beauty ,but not in Raya. She is slim and graceful and in battle that makes her fast. Raya is not physically strong, but she is a good magician and in a fight she is so agile and creative that she doesn't need to be strong. For Raya it seams like her whole life has been a battle; only months after Raya was born her parents and broth were captured by Galbatorix. Her parents were tortured and killed, after that she and her brother were made to work for the king until eventually her broth too died. Galbatorix tried to change her memory but for some reason the spell didn?t work on her, and she escaped to rejoin the elves again. But when she did Galbatorix sent his men to harry her , they killed anyone she was close to. Finally in desperation she fled to vroenguard. Raya thinks she will be alone her whole life, she wouldn't endanger anyone else by becoming their friend, but all she wants is a companion. Despite her past Raya is still sweet and kind, she can be fierce when she is fighting, and any enemy she encounters dies by her blade, but if you let her be, she will be your best friend. Raya doesn't judge people by what others say or think, she will only judge you if she knows you, and whoever a person is, if she can tell their hear is good then Raya will be their friend. Raya swore that as long as she lives she will do everything in her power to make sure that no one has to go thorough what she did. Raya is very intellectual, she is always curious and loves learning she also loves books. She is very smart. Learning things, gathering knowledge is almost like a hobby to her, maybe so she can get away from her past, or maybe it has nothing to do with it and she doesn't it because that is who she is. When she meats a person, she doesn't let them know much about her, nobody but a friend will know of her past, but this is not so with learning, it is her common ground with others, something she can share, and her knowledge will be the first thing you know about her, besides her looks.
Edric Dell
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/4149301.jpg?306)
A tall human boy. Edric is only 15 but he is taller than most other people,he can be a bit clumsy sometimes, like he is not use to being so tall. his hair is always messy and a dull brown color, his eyes are a nondescript brown as well, he is not particularity good looking; he has a scar running down the left side of his face, but he has a good heart. Edric is a good judge of character, a good thing to, as he can be overly trusting. he loves helping others and would be a good healer, as he knows some herb lore. he is well enough at the sword and arrow, as he has to hunt for all his food, he learn Fencing as a precaution but has not yet needed it. most of his life Edric has lived alone in the forest and is use to it, he likes hearing the animals and knows how do make it look like he has never been their. Most of the reason he is in the forest is because he is hiding from the king, not because the king is after him, just so he doesn't draw any attention, Edric doesn't want the king to know he exists, as he is a bit of a coward, also because he has no ware else to go, his parents left him in the forest when he was a baby, but an old woman found him and raised him, until she died when he was 12, after that he lived off the forest, always traveling and learning new things, without leaving the cover of the forest. if you gave Edric a good cause he would fight for but not necessarily with weapons. Edric is more of a scholar, he loves the books he can find and he likes learning. he always thinks before he does things, though that doesn't mean that some of the things he does aren't silly. Edric looks up to and respects the elves and Dragons, or really any magic users, his adopted mother taught his some healing spells and a little bit of other magic, but it is one of the things he cannot learn on his own, or or course he want so learn about it more than anything.though Edric is in hiding he is not shy, he is very outgoing, and if he ever found a person he knew he could really trust he would tell them everything, so e i went to vroenguard,to find people he could trust, people who knew about magic, and because he has always felt a tug to go their. A pull towards the dragons and their eggs, witch are a great mystery to him
Dravoth Rasern
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/5924051.jpg)
He looks elfish, but there is no elf blood in him, that he knows of. He despises those who say he looks like an elf, almost as he despises elves. His eyes are a wierd golden orange color, and have no whites, like a cat. and always seam to take everything in. his hair is a very light bond, almost white. Dravoth is tall and good looking, many girls overlook his sinister attitude but he ignores them, he ignores anyone he doesn't have to pay attention to. He almost always looks cold and aloof. Dravoth is a loner, by choice; he will never join anybody, never pledge himself, and doing so, tie himself down. he is not afraid of anything. He could walk into the palace and tell Galbatorix off without so much as batting an eyelid. He will not choose a side in the war between the riders and the king unless doing so is to his benefit, But if he did ever choose a side, then they would have gained a very powerful ally. Dravoth is cold and calculating and in battle this is to his benefit. He doesn't have any pity, but he is a master battle strategist and can figure out the enemies almost as easily. With any weapon he is very good. Another argument towards him being and elf. he is lithe and fast, yet very strong. Davoth is a fast learner, and is very quick witted. For all his talents Dravoth seams unapproachable, he is a dark stranger, and he likes his privacy. He will not bow to anybody, and will never consider anybody higher than him. if anybody tries to get him to do anything, he regards them as a fool, and pushes them aside, as he does to anybody else. Dravoth seams board with most of the things that happen, and all together superior to others. He never knew his father, but his mother raised him in the Beor mountains and taught him many things before he left to journey the land and finds something interesting. If he ever loved somebody they would never know, though it is doubtful that he even has the capacity to love. However, he does love Mordazi.
Deron Durales
![Picture](/uploads/1/7/9/6/17960521/3557435.jpg)
He is a human sorcerer. his hair is silvery grey and it always gleams, his eyes are a deep black, and they always catch attention they come from using black magic the way he does. his skin is pale. all together he is very good looking, in a sinister way.he always wears fine clothes, and does things in an extravagant manor. with magic he has made many changes to himself. when he was younger he thought humans a weaker race than the elves, and fixed the 'weekneses' with magic.one of the changes was to make himself look younger, . he is very sinister, it is as if he doesn't have any feelings, or he never shows them. he care nothing for others. Deron is a very proud man, he loves power and as the head sorcerer, the best magician in the land after the king, he has power, he doesn't care witch side he is on, well he would be on the 'evil' side of any war.Only once in his life has anybody ever bested him, a young fire elf girl named Lasair fought him, for her life and escaped. if anyone ever bested him again he would kill them, like he killed lasair, for not only is he powerful, in terms of magic, and of power granted by the king, by he is also very crafty, and smart.
